Product Description
An oil-filled dry-type submersible motor is a hybrid submersible motor that combines the “dry-type” motor structure with “oil-filling” technology. It is filled with insulating oil internally, but the main structure of the motor is similar to that of a conventional motor (dry-type), and it operates underwater through sealing and pressure compensation.
This design ingeniously combines the advantages of two traditional technologies: it retains the simplicity of a dry-type motor’s structure while using oil filling to address the core challenges of high pressure and heat dissipation in the deep sea.
"Dry" core, more reliable: The internal structure is essentially the same as that of a standard motor; components such as the stator and rotor operate in a relatively dry environment (the interior is filled with oil but contains no water), retaining the well-established design and ease of maintenance characteristic of general-purpose motors. This structure generally does not require complex and expensive water-resistant windings, offering further advantages in terms of maintainability and cost.
"Oil-filled" design, resistant to high pressure: the interior of the motor is filled with mineral oil that offers high insulation properties and excellent lubrication. This layer of oil not only acts as a cooling medium, efficiently dissipating heat, but also lubricates moving parts such as bearings, thereby reducing wear. More importantly, by incorporating a pressure compensator, it maintains a balance between internal and external pressures, which is key to withstanding the high pressures of the deep sea.
